Owner Guido Martinetti says the idea of Grom Gelato came to him while reading the newspaper one day at lunch. His eye caught an article saying no one in Italy made “gelato like it used to be made.” The article was referring to high-quality gelato, with fresh seasonal fruit, without artificial aromas, thickening agents or colorings, and he thought he and his friend Guido Martinetti could make it.
The idea was to apply the common principles of the world's best restaurants to the production of artisan gelato: buy the absolute best raw materials.
And so Grom Gelato was born. Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti have pursued their dream since 2002 by rigorously researching the best products the agricultural world had to offer: only fresh fruit from the best consortium in Italy and from their own organic farm; with no addition of artificial colorings, aromas, preservatives or emulsifiers.
Now Grom Gelato is here in Malibu for us to enjoy, so "Mangiare Bene!"
