St. Johns, Malibu, CA
Since its founding in 1942 by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Providence Saint John's Health Center has been providing the patients and families of Santa Monica, West Los Angeles and ocean communities with breakthrough medicine and inspired healing. Saint John's provides a wide spectrum of acute care treatment and diagnostic services with a special emphasis on cancer, cardiac, orthopedic and women's health services, along with many renowned special programs, such as its close affiliation with the internationally recognized John Wayne Cancer Institute. The skills and dedication of Saint John's physicians, nursing staff and all employees, and their acute attention to patient needs, continue Saint John's legacy of providing academic-quality medicine in a comforting healing environment.
Built from the patient's perspective, Providence Saint John's provide the community with easy access to internationally acclaimed, academic-level medical care and the latest medical technology in a homelike environment -- without having to navigate the labyrinth of a typical, large academic medical center. The two buildings that make up Saint John's -- the Howard Keck Diagnostic Center and Chan Soon-Shiong Center for Life Sciences -- have a combined total of 236 private beds, with the capability to expand to 268 beds (including semi-private rooms) during peak seasons.
